I just finished this one tonight for Analysis of Form. Charcoal, 18x24", 2009

Study of Bernini Sculpture

I am very happy with this piece that I did for Figure drawing. It is a study of a sculpture by the artist Bernini. This has to be the most detailed piece of work that I have done to date. This is charcoal, 18x24", 2009

Study of Michelangelo's Libyan Sybil

This was an exercise for Figure Drawing, a study of Michelangelo's Libyan Sybil. Yes, it is a woman----I wondered the whole time I was drawing it, "Is it a man, or is it a woman?" I looked up his finished painting, and it is indeed a woman, and not nearly as lumpy looking as the sketch.

Nude 3

I just finished this nude for week 5 of Figure drawing. Can you see the improvement compared to the other two I did? I am pretty happy with the way this one turned out. I think her right foot could use a little more work which I probably will do later.
