I have recently fallen in love with painting marbles. The challenge of getting them perfectly round---not just round but getting these little glass globes to look like they have form. Distorting the image of what is behind its round surface, and making the surface look smooth and shiny. Oh, then there is the reflected light on the ground surface that is fun---the intense light in the center and the colored shadow surrounding it.
Prepare to see more of these types of paintings from me. They are intense. Each marble can take two hours to paint...so you can imagine how many hours any of these took!
I have a degree in fine art from Academy of Art University. I am represented by Crossroads Art Center, Hall Pass Gallery at Churchill, and Peterson's Gallery in Baker City, Oregon. Chris Haberman is my representative in the Portland area.
I guest teach oil painting classes at Baker High School, and teach weekly oil painting classes at Crossroads Carnegie Art Center.
I was filmed for a German travel show, and was a guest artist on The Travel Channel's "The Dead Files" for the episode "The Feeding Grounds".
I also lift weights and work at a gym, and operate a home business. I have a husband, three kids, too many cats, and a dog. Life is full.
